Firefighters rescue elderly woman from car involved in Lenzie crash
An elderly woman had to be rescued from a car by firefighters after a crash on Lindsaybegg Road.
Crews from Bishopbriggs and Kirkintilloch were called to the incident at around 1.25pm on Monday, May 14.
They arrived on the scene to find two cars had been involved in the accident and, while three people had managed to escape their vehicles unaided, an elderly woman was trapped in the back seats of one car.
Firefighters rescued the woman by removing the roof of the car with hydraulic cutting equipment. She was then passed into the care of waiting paramedics who took her, by ambulance, to Glasgow Royal infirmary for treatment.
The three other people involved in the accident were also treated at the scene by paramedics as a precaution, but did not need hospital treatment.
