Homes evacuated after Lenzie electrical substation blaze

A dozen homes had to be evacuated after a blaze at an electrical substation in Millersneuk Avenue.

Firefighters from Kirkintilloch and Bishopbriggs were first called to the incident at 9.10am on Monday, May 21.

On arrival, crews evacuated properties close to the substation as a precaution. The fire has now been extinguished and firefighters are continuing dampening down operations.

Crews are working with partners in the police, local authority and Scottish Power. There have been no reports of any injuries at this time.
